In GUP#21 Lauren Greenfield explores the irony of growing up.

asked Lauren for her own interpretation of Young At Heart and she
approached the theme in a way that was new to folks at the magazine.
Young people are under the illusion that they are adults but in their
hearts are still children. Internally, they are innocent, naive
uninhibited. Externally, they look older, polished, self-conscious. The
influence of modern consumption culture on the mass media has resulted
in the children being unable to connect behavior with age. This
portfolio is an ironic look into young hearts.
